Jeremiah Murphy is a M.A. student at the School of Media and Journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill.

He’s specializing in Science and Medical Journalism.

Murphy received his bachelor of arts in Theatre Arts from Sewanee, The University of the South. As an undergraduate student he supplemented his theatre experience with a wide range of science classes.

After Sewanee, Murphy performed stand-up comedy and improv in New York and Los Angeles. Murphy has also worked in public transportation and most recently as a development coordinator at a small liberal arts college in New Mexico.

His favorite job so far has been the one year he spent as a stay at home dad. As a master’s student in Science and Medical Journalism, Murphy is working to develop solid journalism skills in order to use comedy to explain complex science stories.
